The main consequence of the protest was Lala Lajpat Rai’s death on 17 Nov., 1928 as he sustained injuries from which he could not recover. (d) Gandhiji withdraw the Civil Disobedience Movement on following assurances: (i) to release all political prisoners except those guilty of violence. (ii) to withdraw the Ordinances promulgated in connection with the civil disobedience Movement. (e) In South-east Asia Indian soldiers fell prisoners into Japanese hands.
