Forest Soil Explanation: 1. this is most widely spread and important soil . it occupies whole northern plains or in other words whole Northern Plains is formed from Alluvial soil. it has it have been deposited by three important Himalayan rivers - the Indus, the Brahmaputra , and the Ganga. it is ALSO found in the eastern COASTAL plains particular early in the DELTAS of Mahanadi , Godavari , Krishna and Kaveri rivers. 2. These soils are black in COLOUR and are also known as regur soil . black soil is ideal for growing cotton and is also known as Black cotton soil. it covers the plateaus of Maharashtra , Saurashtra , Malwa , Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh and EXTENDED in the south east direction along the Godavari and the Krishna rivers. |
