Answer» Answer: Irrigation is the artificial process of applying controlled amounts of water to LAND to assist in production of crops. Irrigation helps to grow agricultural crops, maintain landscapes, and revegetate disturbed soils in DRY areas and during periods of less than average rainfall. Two methods of irrigation are: (i) Sprinkler system : This system is used on the uneven land where less water is available. ... (ii) Drip irrigation: This system is used to save water as it allows the water to flow drop by drop at the roots of the plants. 7. If wheat is sown in the Kharif season (from June to October), then the whole crop might get destroyed because of MANY factors such as LACK of optimum temperature, adaptability, AVAILABILITY of pests, etc. Kharif season includes the rainy season, which is not favourable for the growth of the wheat crop. |
