How did pungi transform into sehnai

Answer» Pungi had a shrill and unpleasant sound. It was banned in the royal Court. A barber who had access to the royal palace decided to improve the tonal quality of the Pungi. He chose a natural hollow stem pipe and made seven holes on it. Soft and melodious sounds were produced. Since the instrument was played for the first time in the Shah\'s court by a \'nai\' (barber), it came to be known as \'shehnai\'.
As pungi was having shrill and unpleasent sound thats-why its name was transferred from pungi to shehnai
Pungi was shrill and unpleasent sound produce.
