Answer» Parenchyma:It is a simple permanent tissue PRESENT in plant body.It has thin walled cells.It's found in MESOPHYLL of leaves, endosperm of seeds and it's almost universal in distribution.They help in STORAGE of food, water and air.It carries out important activities like photosynthesis, respiration.━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━Structure:They have large intracellular spaces.Cell wall is thinThe cell wall is MADE up of cellulose.Protoplasam has reserve food materials.The cells have large central vacoule and cytoplasm with nucleus.━━━━━━━━━━━━Types of parenchyma:This category of parenchyma is found to contain chloroplasts. They are specialised for photosynthesis. Cells are elongated and placed parallel to each other This type of parenchyma tissue CONTAINS oval cells. The intracellular spaces contains air They help in buoyancy in hydrophytes.They store sugar, protein, oil drops etc The XYLEM parenchyma help in conduction of water.The phloem parenchyma helps in conduction of food. |
