  • Helps in maintaining bone density – regular exercise reduces the risk of loss of bone density and osteoporosis which usually begins after 40 years of age. The person also becomes prone to more fractures. 
  • slows down brain functions – regular exercise maintains balanced blood flow to the brain and prevents many diseases like Alzheimer. 
  • improves muscular strength – the strength of muscle and muscle mass persists for longer time in the people who do regular exercise. 
  • cardio respiratory fitness – inspite of the old age, people are able to improve their Cardio respiratory fitness (which decreases with time) through regular exercise. 
  • prevents or delays diseases – regular exercise can prevent from diseases and disabilities like arthritis, heart disease, diabetes , high blood pressure, etc.
