Solubility of a salt that does not change with raise in temperature |
|
Answer» Explanation:Solubility of the most of the salt rises with increase in temperature. This is because with increase in temperature, kinetic energy of the molecules increases and the solvent molecules break apart the SOLUTE molecules that are held together by intermolecular attractions more EFFECTIVELY. ALSO for most of the ionic compounds, change in enthalpy is positive and hence the DISSOLUTION PROCESS is endothermic. For endothermic reaction, increase in temperature leads the reaction to forward reaction. |
