Answer» But it's a little more complicated than that.
I don't think the actual internet is going out, it's probably something to do with my PC. Another PC in the house isn't effected by this.
For some reason, usually a few random times a day, I'll lose my connection. When it goes out, all I have to do to fix it is go into Network and Sharing Center, click MANAGE Network Connections, disable the connection, then re-enable it. Then it's all back to normal. It doesn't sound like much but it gets really annoying, REALLY fast. Especially when it goes out in the middle of games or when I'm doing something important (of course it seems to know when I'm doing something important and goes out right then, just to taunt me.)
There's got to be something I can do about this.

My modem is a Netgear CG814GCMR PROVIDED by the cable company, my ISP is Charter Communications, and I have a 5 MBPs connection. The problematic computer is set up as a static IP, the other computer isn't. But as far as I can remember, my PC was effected by this problem before it was set up as a static IP.Click the start menu and then click run type cmd into the box and press enter. here type ipconfig /all and hit enter. copy the results and post them here.
You may need to highlight all the text with click and drag to create a box around the text then hit the enter key to copy the text.
While your waiting for a reply you could see if any of this has an effect:
In command prompt (start menu>run>cmd) type and hit enter after each LINE: ipconfig /flushdns ipconfig /registerdns ipconfig /release ipconfig /renew
If that doesn't work...
At Command Prompt, type in: netsh int ip reset reset.log press enter
then
netsh winsock reset catalog press enter
Then restart your PC.
If this doesn't help run WinSockFix. (Download from http://www.softpedia.com/get/Tweak/Network-Tweak/WinSockFix.shtml) Then restart your PC.
