Answer» (1) Zinc (or any other reactive metal) reacts with dil. H2SO4 to give hydrogen. Zn (s) + H2SO4 (aq.) → ZnSO4 (aq.) + H2 (g) (2) Sodium carbonate reacts with dil. H2SO4 to give CO2 Na2CO3 (s) + H2SO4 (aq.) → Na2SO4 (aq.) + H2O(l) + CO2 (g) The above reaction can also be carried out with NaHCO3 (sodium bicarbonate) or KHCO3 (potassium bicarbonate) |
