What will happen if political parties does not exist. Explain. |

Answer» ateYou’d end up with new political parties. There’s no stopping LIKE minded people from grouping together. It’s also important to understand how elections work and take a passing glance at the constitution to understand things.First, understand that the President needs to get a majority of electoral votes to win. That means 50% plus 1. If 3 people run, and Candidate A gets 40% of the electoral votes, Candidate B gets 31% and Candidate gets 29%, who wins? You’d think, Candidate A, but you’re wrong. Nobody got to 50%, so there’s no winner. The backup plan is that then the House of Representatives elects the President out of the top 3 FINISHERS. If, for whatever reason, Candidate C has more support in the House, he/she will be moving into the White House. So now imagine if there were 6 parties. Do you think it would be harder to get to 50% with 6 parties all splitting up the electorate? I do. And the House would be DECIDING a lot more elections. As it stands now, most 3rd parties end up splitting the vote of either the Republicans or Democrats, thereby weakening the party that they’re closest to. That’s why a strong 3rd party will often try to absorb 3rd parties that are closest to them.In the end, the parties get their power from the people who support them. By power, you could also say “money” which is then concentrated BEHIND candidates that are aligned with the party. If you woke up tomorrow and the Republicans and Democrats were outlawed, you’d wind up with multiple candidates and elections where people with very low support would get elected. Eventually people would find this to be stupid and smaller/fractured parties would come together and eventually you’d most likely get back to two big parties: one on the left, and one on the right.Hope this helps you mate... |
