Answer» The lines of latitudes are imaginary lines that are drawn from east to WEST as PARALLELS on the GLOBE. Latitudes are referred to as parallels. The 0° latitude drawn from east to west the EQUATOR. It runs across the globe dividing the earth onto two HALVES known as the northern hemisphere and southern hemisphere.
