1. How did trade take place between India and Europe duringmiddle ages? |
|
Answer» There was little trade between India and Europe in the Middle Ages - and it was indirect - the rise of Islam meaning that the direct sea connection via the Red Sea and the Indian Ocean being rather difficult for Christian Europeans (to put the matter mildly). There was some important trade in the early middle ages between India and Scandinavia (via what is now Russia) with steel to be made into some famous Viking swords coming from India, but the rise of the nomad tribes on the steppe largely ended this trade. Crucible steel was not seen in Europe again for centuries. |
