Answer» 1. Proteins are body building molecules. If proteins digesting enzymes are secreted inactive forms, they would hydrolyse the cellular and extracellular proteins of the organism itself. So the protein-digesting enzyme trypsin is secreted in their inactive form. 2. Mucus and bicarbonates present in the gastric and intestinal secretion protects the gut wall from the action of HCL and protein digesting enzymes. In the absence of mucus and bicarbonates, peptic ulcer are found on the gut wall. |
