2) Why do iron articles lose their shine gradually? |

Answer» Iron loses shine because of 2 REASONS1) Scratches on the SURFACE causes irregularities on the surfaces. Because if this, light bounces of unevenly, and the shune DIES not form, although it'll still reflect light off its surface.2) Rust can also be a cause. The iron reacts with the MOISTURE in the air, and form rust. Rust is a reddish brown layer of Iron Oxide formed on the iron article's surface. This can be prevented by coating the iron with PAINT, or electroplating with metals like chromium or nickel, or instead using iron alloys like stainless steel. |
