Answer»

s Micelle formation takes PLACE when SOAP is ADDED to water ? Will a Micelle be  formed in other solvents such as ETHANAL also ?When soap is added to water, micelle formation takes place, this is because the hydrocarbon chains of soap molecules are hydrophobic while the ionic ends are hydrophilic and hence soluble in water. Micelle will not form in all types of solvents. It will form in such type of solvent where soap is insoluble in that particular solvent.ORWhy are carbon and its compounds used as fuels for Most applications ?The carbon compounds, used as a fuel, have high calorific values. Therefore, carbon and its compounds are used as fuels for most applications. Most of the carbon compounds give a lot of heat and light when burnt in AIR. Saturated hydrocarbons burn with a clean flame and no smoke is produced.
