Answer» i) a =10 cm , b = 24 cm and c = 26 cm. ∴ s = (a + b + c )/ 2 s = (10 + 24 + 26) / 2 = 30 cm. By Heron’s formula Area = √(s(s-a)(s-b)(s-c) = √30*(30-10)*(30-24)*(30-26) = √30*20*6*4 = √14400 = 120 ii) a =1.8 cm , b = 8 cm and c = 8.2 cm. ∴ s = (a + b + c )/ 2 s = (1.8 + 8 + 8.2) / 2 = 9 cm. By Heron’s formula Area = √(s(s-a)(s-b)(s-c) = √9*(9-1.8)*(9-8)*(9-8.2) = √9*7.2*1*0.8 = √51.84 = 7.2 Like my answer if you find it useful! |
