B and C can do it in 15 days C and A can do it in 20 days Calculation: Work done by A and B in 1 day = 1/12 ….(i) Work done by B and C in 1 day = 1/15 ….(ii) Work done by C and A in 1 day = 1/20 ….(iii) Adding (i), (ii) and (iii) we get Work done by 2(A + B + C ) = 1/12 + 1/15 + 1/20 ⇒ (5 + 4 + 3)/60 = 12/60 = 1/5 ⇒ Work done by 1 × (A + B + C ) = (1/5) × 1/2 ⇒ Work done by A, B & C in 1 day = 1/10. ∴ A, B and C together can complete the work in 10 days |
