1.

A hemisphere and a cone with same radii are attached to get a solid as given in the figure. Radius of the hemisphere is 9 cm. The height of the two solids together is 21 cm.a. Find the height of the cone.b. Find the volume of the conec. Find the volume of the solids

Answer»

a. Height of the cone 21 – 9 = 12 cm

Volume of the sphere

\(=\frac{2}{3}\pi \times9^3=486\pi \) cm3

b. Volume of the cone

\(=\frac{1}{3}\pi\times9^2\times12=324\pi\) cm3

c. Total volume = \(486\pi+324\pi=810\pi\) cm3
