(c) X-Sieve plate, Y-Companion cells, Z-Sieve pores. (d) Living state of the mature sieve tube cells is regulated by nucleated companion cells with which they are connected by plasmodesmata. Both sieve tube cell and companion cells tend to be originated from the same mother. |
