Answer» Correct Answer - Option 3 : 260 days

Given:

A is 30% more efficient than B

B is 20% less efficient than C

Concept Used:

Efficiency = Total work/Total time

Calculation:

C : B = 100 : 80

A : B = 104 : 80

A : B : C = 104 : 80 : 100

⇒ A : B : C = 26 : 20 : 25 (Efficiency Ratio)

L.C.M of 26, 20, 25 is 1300

Ratio of their days is A : B : C = \(\frac{{1300}}{{26}}{\rm{\;}}:{\rm{\;}}\frac{{1300}}{{20}}{\rm{\;}}:{\rm{\;}}\frac{{1300}}{{25}}\)

⇒ A : B : C = 50x : 65x : 52x

A takes 8 days less than C to complete the work.

(52x – 50x) = 2x

⇒ 2x = 8 days

⇒ 65x = 260 days

∴ B takes 260 days to complete the job
