A river of hot or cold water flowing in an ocean |
|
Answer» Cold-water currents occur as the cold water at the poles sinks and slowly moves toward the equator. Warm-water currents travel out from the equator along the surface, flowing toward the poles to replace the sinking cold water. Natural hot water SOURCES are nothing new, and geothermal springs can be found across the world, in places like Iceland and Yosemite. However, these features are usually located in close proximity to volcanoes, YET Peru's boiling river is more than 700 kilometers (435 MILES) from the nearest volcanic CENTER. |
