1.

A scooter starts from rest moves in a straight line with a constant acceleration and covers a distance of 64m in 4s . 1. Calculate it's acceleration and its final velocity . 2. At what time the scooter had covered half the total distance ?

Answer»

Hi FRIEND,

We know that

S=ut +1/2 at²

Since u=0

S=1/2 at²

a=2S/t²

a= 2×64/16

a=8m/s²

V= u+at

FINAL VELOCITY (v) =8×4

V=32 m/s.

Again,

S=ut +1/2 at²

S=1/2 at²

Given that the scooter had covered half the distance, so

S/2 =1/2 at²

S/a =t²

64/8 =t²

t²= 8

t=2√2 secs.

Hope this HELPED you a little!!!
