1.

A Shopkeeper marks up his goods by 20% and gives a discount of 5%. Also, he uses a false balance, which reads 1000 gins for 750 gins. What is his total profit percent?

Answer» Let the CP per gm be 0.10

Accordingly CP of 1kg i.e. 1000 gms = Rs.100.

Selling price of 750 gms

= [100 × 120% – 5% of 120]

= 120 – 6 = 114.

Cost Price of 750 gms = 75.

Profit = 114 – 75 = 39

Profit percent = 39/75x100=52%
