A shopkeeper purchased 6 articles for Rs. 1 and sold 3 articles for Rs. 1, what will be the profit or loss percentage of the shopkeeper?1. 50%2. 37.5%3. 75%4. 100%

Answer» Correct Answer - Option 4 : 100%

Given:

Cost price of 6 articles = Rs. 1

Selling Price of 3 articles = Rs. 1

Formula used:

Profit = SP – CP

Profit percentage = (P/CP) × 100

Here CP is cost price, SP is selling price and P is profit

Calculation:

CP of 1 article = Rs. 1/6

SP of 1 article = Rs. 1/3

Profit = SP – CP

⇒ Profit (P) = 1/3 – 1/6 = 1/6

Profit percentage = (P/CP) × 100

⇒ P% = [(1/6)/(1/6)] × 100

⇒ P% = 100%

∴ The shopkeeper will earn profit of 100%
