Answer» Correct Answer - Option 4 : Rs. 35

Given:

Total no. of eggs purchased = 600

Price per dozen = Rs. 25

50 eggs were broken on the way.

A profit of 30% on whole has to be made.

Formula Used:

Profit% = Profit/CP × 100

Loss% = Loss/CP × 100

Calculation:

Price per egg = Rs. (25/12)

Total CP of eggs = Rs. (600 × 25/12) = Rs. 1250

Total profit required = Rs. (1250 × 30/100) = Rs. 375

So, total Selling price = Rs. (1250 + 375) = Rs. 1625

50 eggs are broken, remaining eggs = 600 – 50 = 550

SP of 1 egg = Rs. (1625/550)

SP of 1 dozen eggs = Rs. (1625/550 × 12) = Rs. (390/11) = Rs. 35.45 ≈ Rs. 35

∴ Selling price of eggs per dozen is Rs. 35 approximately.
