A solid cuboidal toy is made of wood. It has five cone shaped cavities to hold toy carrots.The dimensions of the toy are cuboid -10 cm 10 cm x 8 cm.Each cone carved out - Radius=2.1 cm and Height = 6 cm(1) Find the volume of wood carved out to make five conical cavities.(2) Find the volume of the wood in the final product.

(1) Volume of 1 cone = \(\frac{1}{3}\pi r^2 h\)

\(\frac13\times\frac{22}7\times2.1\times2.1\times6\)

= 22 x 0.1 x 2.1 x 6

= 27.72 cm3

Volume of wood carved out to make 5 conical cavities = 5 x volume of one cone

= (5 x 27.72) cm3

= 138.6 cm3

(2) Volume of wood = volume of cuboid - volume of 5 conical cavities

= (10 x 10 x 8) - 138.6

= 800 - 138.6 

= 661.4 cm3
