A test tube filled with water is dipped up to its neck in a boiling water bath . Does the water inside the test tube boil? Justify. |
| Answer» Solution :The water in the test TUBE becomes hot but does not boil. The water in the tube gets the HEAT from the water outside. As the maximum TEMPERATURE of water in the container outsideis `100^(@)C`, the water inside the test tube attain `100^(@)C` temperature, but immediately the transmission of heat stops DUE to thermal equilibrium and hence the water inside the test tube cannot boil.. | |
