1.

A train moving with the speed of 25 m/s crosses a platform which is one third of its length in 20 seconds. What would be the length of the train?1. 325 m2. 125 m3. 275 m4. 225 m5. 375 m

Answer» Correct Answer - Option 5 : 375 m

Given:

Speed of train = 25 m/s

Time taken to cross the platform = 20 second

Length of platform = Length of train/3

Formula used:

Distance = Speed × Time

Solution:

Let the length of train be 3x m

Length of platform = (1/3) × 3x

Length of platform = x m

Total distance covered by train = 3x + x = 4x m

Distance = Speed × Time

⇒ 4x = 25 × 20

⇒ 4x = 500

⇒ x = 125

Length of train = 3x = 3 × 125

∴ Length of train is 375 m
