Answer» a. Adolescents are easily affected by (or are vulnerable to) peer pressure. Curiosity, need for adventure and excitement, and experimentation constitute common causes for motivation. A child’s natural curiosity motivates him/her to experiment. Television, movies, newspapers, internet also promote drug use. b. Addiction is the psychological attachment to certain effects such as euphoria or temporary feeling of well-being. Dependence is the tendency of the body to show withdrawal syndrome or symptoms if regular doses of drug/alcohol is abruptly discontinued.
