Answer» India supported Britain during WORLD War 2 because the most of the powerful Congress leaders at the time thought this move would help get India Independence. Besides, influential leaders like Gandhi thought the Nazis had attacked Poland & weren’t treating them very WELL. So, they CHOSE democracy over totalitarianism. Other leaders like Subhash Chandra BOSE thought India should take advantage of the situation & deny aid to the British & INSTEAD help the Axis to weaken London’s stance
