Answer» Acid rain contains acids such as HNO₃, H₂SO₄ and H₂CO₃ (along with small amount of HCl). HNO₃ is formed by the oxidation of NO present in air to NO₂ and NO₃ and subsequent dissolution in water. H₂SO₄ is formed by the oxidation of SO₂ present in air to SO₃ and subsequent dissolution in water, H₂CO₃ is formed by the dissolution of CO₂ of the air in water.
