An object has a velocity of 8 m/s and a kinetic energy of 480 J. What is the mass of the object? (Formula: )7.5 kg15 kg60 kg120 kg

Answer»

Hey there!!

Here is your answer ↓↓

In ORDER to find the mass, when kinetic ENERGY , VELOCITY is GIVEN, we use this formula :

Kinetic Energy = ( 1 ÷ 2 ) ( m ) ( v² )

m = mass

v = velocity ( 8 m/s )

Kinetic energy = 480 J

480 = ( 1 ÷ 2 ) ( m ) ( 8² )

480 = ( 1 ÷ 2 ) ( m ) ( 64 )

480 = 32m

m = 480 ÷ 32

m = 15

The mass is 15 kg

Hope my answer helps!
