Answer» The displacement of the body can be zero if after travelling a certain distance it comes back to its original or intial position. For Example :- Suppose a athlete runs from a point A to point B towards north and the road connecting point A and B is straight. The distance between A and B is 10m. The athlete first goes from point A to B towards north and returns. Then the total displacement will be = 10 m towards north - 10 m towards south = 0 m.Suppose a person throws a ball upwards through height h and catches back he ball.Then, Distance covered by the ball = h + h = 2hDisplacement of the ball = 0.
