and opening of stomata caused? |
|
Answer» It is controlled by the guard cells.when there is less water in gaurd cells they shrink that causes stomatal pore to close. when there is more water in gaurd cells then they dilates due to which the stomatal pore opens. Potassium ions play a role in the opening and closing of stomata by changing the concentration of ions in the guard cells. When the potassium ions are in the guard cells, water also flows in the guard cells because of osmosis and the stomata open. When the potassium ions are out of the guard cells, water also flows out of the guard cells because of osmosis and the stomata close. |
