Answer» 1. The rationale behind the construction of tanks was to collect rain water as and when and where it fell. 2. These water bodies have served us for water supply, recharging underground water and as habitats for plants, fishes, frogs and birds. 3. (c) bad planning and management. 4. Our tanks have been misused by dumping garbage, waste materials, discharge of sewage, effluents and also by draining them for all kinds of constructions. 5.
