Answer» shine and reflect light i.e metals are lustrous.Metals are HARD substances , exceptions are Mercury and gallium which exist in liquid state.The materials which have a bright surface and reflect light are called lustrous materials and materials that do not shine are non-lustrous.Generally metals are lustrous.The property of material is called luster.Examples - Gold, Silver, Platinum, COPPER etc .Metals have high densities.Metals have high melting and boiling point.Metals are good conductors of heat and electricity.Non-metals are non-lustrous.Metals produce ringing sound when they FALL on hard surface i.e metals are sonorous.Metals can be flattened into thin sheets i.e metals are ductile. Exceptions are zinc, antimony, and arsenic , These metals are MALLEABLE. |
