1.

Are all mushrooms decomposers?

Answer»

Well the mushroom is the fruiting body of a fungus, it releases spores to perpetuate the existence of its species.

The fungus is however a decomposer, for most of the time it is an interwoven tissue of branching threads feeding on the tissue of other plants or animals, living or dead.

All the "mushroom" fungi are decomposers, they feed predominantly on dead plant tissue.
