Atomic size of inert gases does not affect inertnes, why? |
|
Answer» Atomic size of insert gases does not affect inertnes because the larger the Noble Gas, the more easily the gas should be oxidized, if only because the valence electrons are farther removed from the nuclear core. Fluorides and oxides of xenon and krypton are pretty routine these days. Argon compounds are much more of a rara avis ...and these are not something with any prolonged existence. |
