Blood is a type of connective tissue. Why is it called connective tissue? |

Answer» Blood is considered as connective tissue because of the following reasons. 1. Blood connects different organs of our body together by carrying oxygen, nutrients, hormones, and other signaling molecules and removing the waste. 2. It has all the three components of connective tissue i.e., cells, fibers, and matrix. 3. Similar to other connective tissues, blood is rich in fibres like collagen fibers and blood clotting fibres. 4. Blood originates from the mesodermal layer of the embryo from which ail other connective tissues also originate. |
