Answer» BUDDING. Budding/ Grafting is a method of joining a part of ONE PLANT/ tree to another plant/ tree. These methods are implemented for developing desired varities of Apple, Pear, Peach, Apricot, Plum, Nectarine etc. In this method, a bud with a little surrounding peel is taken off a from a parent graft. Then the peel of the desired plant is cut in a T shape and the bud is inserted in this peel. Finally the peel containing the bud is wrapped with some cloth and kept till the bud seems to fix. Apart from this there are other methods of budding too, like a very small piece of graft containing the bud is inserted in the peel, or in the WOODY pulp of a plant/tree. The fruits which I have listed above can be developed both throught grafting as well as budding. IMPORTANT You can develop a peach, apricort, plum or nectarine with any of these base plants. Like a peach base plant can be grafted with the REST three and vice versa. |
