The Truthfulness Of Basanta Summary in English:

It is a One-act play in which we see the following charcters.

1.   Basanta: A poor boy

2.   Pratap: Younger brother of Basanta

3.   Pt. Rajakishore: A workers Leader

4.   A doctor and others.

There are only two scenes in the play.
In the first scene, we find the scene of a market. Among the crowd of the people, a little boy of 12 years age is selling some items to the people. The boys’ name is Basanta. He is selling matchbox, Shirt buttons and many other things. He saw a leader wearing Khadi Dress. His name is Pandit Raj Kishore. The boy forces him to purchase things from him. But the leader rejects. Nevertheless, he gives him a note and asks him to bring changes. The leader waits for him for the changes for minutes. But he doesn’t come at all. Here ends the first scene.

In the second scene, Mr. Pratap goes to the house of Mr. Pandit Raj Kishore in a place called Kishan Ganj and he tells him ‘My elder brother Mr. Basant met you yesterday and went for bringing changes for the note given by you. But while coming back in a hurry, he met with an accident. As a result of the accedent his legs were damaged and further he fell down unconsious. After few hours, he came to his consciousness and asked me to return your money’.

Then Pandit Raj Kishore went to his house and arranged for immediate medical treatment by Dr. Verma and accordingly. the doctor treated him seriously and within few days Mr. Basant was cured. The honesty of Basant was appreciated by everybody. Here ends the second scene.
