Answer» Ans :- Seeds such as beans ,grams, etc. are called dicotyledon seed. When opened,these seeds show two thick parts or seed leaves called cotyledons. In the external part of seeds,one sees the protective layer called test or seed coat while the inner concave side of seed, a scar called hilum is seen where the seed was attached to fruit wall. A pore called mycropyle is present above hilum which absorbs water required for germination. Cotyledons contains stored food required by seedlings for growth. |
