ΔM = ZmP + (A - Z)mN - M

For carbon -12 nucleus

Z = 6, A = 12 and M = 12 amu

=> ΔM = 6 x 1.00727 + 6 x 1.00866 - 12 = 0.09558 amu

E = ΔM x 931 MeV = 0.09558 x 931 = 88.985 MeV
