In the village the grandmother help the poet in his studies .When they went to city , there was turning point in their friendship . When the author started to go to english school the grandmother feels very distress beacause she could not help him in his studies .The grandmother spends her time in reciting the prayers at the afternoon she relaxed for some time by spreading bread crums to the sparrows in the varandah . She was having a lot wrinckles on her face and she was slighty bent and fat .So it is hard to believe for author that her grand mother was young and pretty.
