Choose two places of your choice from the Atlas and find out about them from at least five different thematic maps. Then compare the life in the two places – what would be similar and what would be different? |

Answer» If we can pick two places from the Atlas, it would be interesting to see how two states from the same country can be different from each other. For example, Alaska and Rhode Island both are located in UNITED States of America, however they are QUITE different from ONE another. Size: Alaska is 1,717,856 km/sq where as Rhode Island is 3,144 km/sq. This makes Alaska 547 times bigger than Rhode Island . Even then Rhode Island is considered the 17TH wealthiest state in USA. Many of the population living there is middle class. It basis its produce on agriculture, mining and forestry, i.e. primary industry. Alaska on the otherhand gets much PROFIT from its natural resources like oil and gas. |
