Class-IX SOCIAL SCIENCE Project work – Disaster management. As per CBSE guidelines, students of Class IX have to submit a handwritten project on any one of the related topics on Disaster Management. Students are requested to utilize their summer vacation to complete this project which will be followed by viva voce. General Instructions: 1. The project should be hand written. 2. It should be well presented, researched, and pictorial. 3. Cover page, table of contents, acknowledgements, bibliography, headings and sub – headings are a must. 4. Each section should be done on white/coloured A4 size sheets. 5. The project should be presented in a file. 6. The project should not exceed 10-15 pages. 7. You will have to present your project in Class after the holidays. Suggested Projects [Do any one project] 1) Mitigation strategy for natural disasters like floods, earthquakes, landslides and Cyclones. OR 2) Mitigation strategy for human induced disasters like nuclear accidents, chemical and Industrial accidents and biological disasters. OR 3) Prevention and Mitigation of Common Disasters in India.- Drought ,Tsunami and Any man – made disaster Note: Based on your selection topic enumerate the following in your project: a. Meaning b. Causes c. Do’s and don’ts d. Prevention and mitigation measures e. Your emergency Kit f. Latest means of forecasting Disasters It should be developed in the following sequence:  Cover page showing title, student information (Name, Class & Roll No) School & Academic Year.  Acknowledgment &Preface.  Introduction.  List of Contents/ Index.  Chapters with suitable headings. (supported with pictures.)  Conclusion. (Summary, Benefits/ Importance of the task).  Bibliography.
