Answer» Exocrine glands directly release their secretions into the organ or tissue while endocrine glands secrete chemical substances into the bloodstream. Exocrine glands have separate ducts for their secretion and so, they are also called duct glands, e.g. sweat glands and tear glands. On the other hand, endocrine glands are called ductless glands as they don’t have a separate duct. e.g. pituitary gland and thyroid gland.
