Define briefly about mass-flow hypothesis |
|
Answer» Firstly sap from leaves is actively transported to phloem2nd a hypertonic solution is created between xylem&phloem so water is transported to phloem through osmosis. Pressure is created in phloem so water moves from higher concentration to lower concentration Then sap is actively transported to sink &water is transported back to xylem through osmosis So this is mass flow hypothesis The pressure Flow Hypothesis also known as Mass Flow Hypothesis is the best supported theory to explain the movement of sap through the phloem. |
