Calcination:- It is the process of converting an ore into its oxide by heating it strongly below its melting point either in absence or limited supply of air.

Example:- CaCO3 → CaO + CO2

Al2O3.2H2O → Al2O3 + 2H2O

2Al(OH)3 → Al2O3 + 3H2O
