'Cry-protein' is encloded by 'cry gene' produced by bacteria Bacillus thuringinesis. Cry protein is toxic to insects, so used as insecticides, such gene are introduced into crop plants by introduction through bacteria so called transgenic crops, e.g. Bt-cotton, Bt-corn. tomato etc.
